Pizza, Music and a Venetian Canal on Your Canvas

This one is a first for us and we could not be more excited. Beverley is bringing in pizza to share, putting the Italian music on, and turning the studio into a little corner of Italy for the night. You just bring your favourite Italian wine.

Just so nobody arrives hungry: the pizza is a snack to pick at rather than dinner, so have a proper meal before you come. Bring your own Italian nibbles along too if you'd like to add something to the table.

You'll paint a gorgeous Venetian canal scene, with a gondola drifting under a stone bridge and geraniums tumbling off every balcony. It's all warm terracotta, dusty pink and that beautiful green canal water. No experience needed at all, we'll guide you through every step.

Your Own Pet, on Your Own Canvas

Working in acrylics on canvas, Beverley will guide you through capturing the things that make your animal yours: the tilt of the head, the eyes, that one particular expression. She'll show you how to approach it step by step, so you get the best possible result whatever your skill level.

Here's the one thing to get right. Your photos need to reach Beverley several days beforehand, so send her a few clear shots of your pet on 0452 276 973. She hand sketches every pet onto its canvas before you arrive, and that preparation is what makes the difference.

Places are strictly limited to eight, because this class needs plenty of one to one attention. Bookings are single places rather than two for one.

Frida, Guacamole and a Studio Full of Colour

October's Paint and Sip is going full fiesta. Beverley is putting on guacamole and crispy tortilla chips, so bring along a bottle of Mexican wine and dress up in your best Mexican attire if you fancy it. It's nibbles rather than dinner, so eat beforehand, and feel free to bring your own snacks to share.

You'll paint a Frida Kahlo inspired portrait in acrylics, complete with a crown of fat pink roses, those famous bold brows and a pair of statement gold earrings. It's loose and colourful, painted in thick confident strokes, so the paint does half the work for you. Faces sound daunting, but we'll break hers down into simple shapes and guide you the whole way.

All materials are supplied and no experience is needed. Grab a friend, put your flowers in your hair, and let's make a night of it.

Matisse, French Cheese and a Very Cool Cat

You'll paint your own version of a Matisse: a black cat sitting in an open window, with a harbour and a sunset glowing behind it. The colours are the whole point here, hot pink, orange and turquoise, all laid on thick and bold. Matisse painted feeling rather than detail, which makes this a wonderfully forgiving picture to have a go at.

Beverley is providing French cheese and biscuits, so bring along a bottle of French wine and settle in. All paints, canvas and brushes are supplied, and no experience is needed at all.
