Course Introduction

A warm welcome to your sanctuary! Life can be busy, loud, and demanding. This course is your invitation to press pause.

We invite you to join us for a gentle, nurturing 10-week journey where the goal isn't to produce a "perfect" artwork, but to find a moment of true peace.

This term is a special collaboration between two inspiring women. Laurie, an intuitive healer and teacher with nearly 40 years of experience in Kundalini yoga and sound healing, will help you find your center.

She is joined by Beverley, the heart and soul of Art on Main, who will guide your creative expression. Together, they have created a safe space for you to unwind, breathe, and explore your inner world through colour and texture.

No art experience is needed. All you need is an open heart and a willingness to slow down.

What Makes This Class So Special

Every week you’ll complete a finished artwork — no long projects, no pressure, no experience needed.

Take a proper break from the noise and busyness of life and come reconnect with yourself through art. Each week opens with a guided meditation to help you settle, before flowing gently into a quiet, mindful art session. It's self-driven, calm, and beautifully unhurried.

"I absolutely love Art on Main! The classes are fantastic, and Beverley is a truly exceptional teacher — incredibly talented, patient, and inspiring. Every session is not only informative but also so much fun.” — Robyn C.

What You’ll Experience Each Week

Across ten weeks you'll work with soft pastels, watercolour, ink, clay, oil pastels, and more, exploring different ways art can soothe and ground you. There's no pressure to produce anything polished, and no right or wrong way to make a mark. Just come as you are, and let creativity do its quiet work.

Together, we will:

Quiet the Noise: Use breathwork and guided meditation to silence a busy mind and find stillness.
Create with Purpose: distinct meaningful art that expresses what words often cannot.
Reconnect Inward: Gently explore your feelings, hopes, and inner strengths in a supportive environment.
Heal Through Art: Discover how creativity can be a powerful pathway to peace and personal growth.
Find Your Light: Leave every session feeling calmer, lighter, and deeply inspired.

Choose your preference from the range of fun classes below.

The Creative Reset

Term-3: 23rd July - 24th September 2026

Week 5

Letting Go

Releasing Control, Trusting the Process

A truly powerful week. You'll explore intuitive, music-led painting, allowing colour and movement to come through without planning or judgement, and gently noticing what you'd like to keep and what you're ready to release.

This session can stir up real emotion for some people, and that's genuinely welcome here. Let it move through you, and let the painting hold what it needs to.

Week 6

Gentle Clay

The Quiet Joy of Tactile Work

This week your hands take the lead. You'll work with soft clay, pinching, pressing, and texturing as your fingers explore the material with no pressure to produce anything in particular.

You might end up with a small bowl, an abstract form, or simply a piece that holds the imprint of a calm hour. Working with clay is profoundly grounding, and you'll feel the difference long after the session ends.

Week 7

Gratitude

Mandalas, Symmetry, and Quiet Thanks

Today is given over to creating a soft, flowing watercolour mandala, with all the calming symmetry that brings. As you work, you'll be invited to gently hold in mind a few things you're grateful for in this season of life.

It's a special, satisfying session that many students name as their favourite of the term. The finished piece becomes a kind of visual prayer you can return to anytime you need it.

Week 8

I Am

A Tender Self-Portrait in Words and Colour

Around a soft, glowing centre, you'll create a radial piece filled with the words that describe who you really are. Kind, strong, funny, loving, creative, or whatever rings true for you in this season of life.

It's a quietly affirming exercise, and an unexpectedly moving one. You'll leave with a piece that reminds you of your own goodness whenever you need it.

Week 9

Your Calm Place

A Visual Escape You Can Return To

Picture a place where you feel completely safe and at peace. It might be real or imagined, a quiet beach, a wooded clearing, a tree full of butterflies, or somewhere only you would recognise.

This week you'll bring that place to life on paper using soft colours, gentle blending, and dreamy atmosphere. From now on, you can revisit it any time you close your eyes.

Week 10

Celebration of Life

Joyful Colour and Bold Closure

We end the term with a vibrant, joyful piece in oil pastels, blending rich colour to celebrate everything you've experienced, everything you have right now, and everything still to come. After ten quiet, gentle weeks, this final session breaks open into pure colour and movement.

It's the perfect way to close the chapter. Bright, alive, and quietly triumphant.

Term-4

15 October - 17 December 2026

Week 1

Becoming Present

Breathe In, Brush Out

We start the term the gentlest way we know how: with water, colour, and a slow, steady breath. You will paint a soft seated figure wrapped in a glow of warm and cool colour, letting the pigment bloom and bleed however it likes. There is no drawing skill needed here, just a willingness to watch the colours move.

It is a beautiful way to arrive, settle, and remember what calm feels like. You will leave with a painting that looks exactly like the morning felt.

Week 2

Listening to Nature

A Face Made From Autumn Leaves

This week the studio smells like the outdoors. You will work with real leaves, twigs and petals, arranging them into a portrait that seems to grow straight out of the page. Nothing gets fixed down in a hurry, so you can keep shifting pieces until it feels right.

It is slow, absorbing work, the sort of thing you lose an hour to without noticing. Bring anything you have collected on a walk and we will find a place for it.

Week 3

Slow Stitch & Mixed Media

Stitch by Stitch, Nothing to Rush

There is something deeply calming about pulling a threaded needle through fabric, over and over. You will layer felt, fabric scraps, beads and simple hand stitches into a rich little patch of colour. No two stitches need to match, and wonky is very welcome.

Slow stitch asks nothing of you except your attention. Bring your hands, we will bring everything else.

Week 4

“I Am” with Pastels

Soft Pastels, Big Feelings

Pick a word that describes you on a good day, then paint it without using a single letter. You will push soft pastel across the page with your fingers, building sweeping bands of colour that fan out from one small point. It is messy, bright, and surprisingly emotional.

Expect colourful hands and a piece that feels genuinely yours. Nobody else in the room will make anything like it.

Week 6

Gratitude Stones

Small Stones, Big Thank Yous

You will paint a smooth river stone with a word that matters to you, then scatter it with tiny hearts, dots and colour. They are lovely to keep by the kettle, tuck into a pocket, or leave somewhere for a stranger to find. Ours usually end up as gifts.

It is a simple, satisfying class with a warm feeling running right through it. You will go home with at least one finished stone, probably more.

Week 7

Mindful Clay

Quiet Hands, Cool Clay

Clay is the most forgiving material we work with, and easily the most grounding. You will shape a small seated figure by hand, smoothing and pressing until the form settles into something peaceful. There is no wheel and no rush, just your palms and a lump of clay.

Most people are surprised by how quickly the outside world goes quiet. Your hands will remember this one long after the class finishes.

Week 8

Layers of Me

Layer, Paste, Repeat

Bring along a jar, vase, tin or box that is ready for a new life. You will cover it in layers of patterned paper, book pages, fabric and photographs, building up a surface that tells a bit of your story. Decoupage is wonderfully repetitive, which is exactly why it is so calming.

The more layers you add, the better it looks. It is a great one for finally using up the bits and pieces you have been saving.

Week 9

Flow of Life

Follow the Colour Wherever It Goes

This one is pure movement. You will blend curving ribbons of colour across the canvas, letting one shade melt into the next without a plan or a pencil line. The whole piece grows out of a single sweeping curve.

It is the closest thing we have to dancing with a brush. Loose, bright, and impossible to get wrong.

Week 10

Journaling

Doodle Your Way Into a Journal

We finish the term by starting something new: your very own doodle journal. Using pen and a Zentangle style of repeating pattern, you will fill a page with loops, spirals, leaves and lettering. There is no wrong mark, and a page fills up far faster than you would think.

It is the perfect habit to carry home with you after ten weeks together. Bring a notebook you love, or use one of ours.
