Introduction to
Wheel Throwing
There's nothing quite like the moment a lump of wet clay stops fighting you and starts spinning into a bowl. Come and sit at a real potter's wheel and find out what all the fuss is about. No experience needed, just wear something you don't mind getting clay on.

Cost: Only $40 per person (includes clay, tuition and the first firing)

Wet Clay, A Spinning Wheel And Plenty Of Laughing
With only four wheels in the studio we keep this class to four people, so Beverley is right beside you the whole time. She'll show you how to centre the clay, open it up and pull the walls, then hand it over and let you have a go.
Expect wobbles, expect the odd collapse, and expect to laugh about all of it. Nobody throws a perfect pot first try, and that's half the fun. You'll leave with clay under your fingernails and a piece that is properly your own.
Your pot dries out, then gets its first firing at 1000 degrees, and that one is included. Glazing and a second firing at 1200 degrees is optional, at $5 extra for a mug sized piece. Beverley will talk you through it on the day.
Four seats each Sunday and no more, so they don't last long. Grab yours and come and get your hands muddy.
