Turn a Plain Glass Piece into a Showstopper
This week we're picking up glass paints and turning an everyday glass or bottle into something properly special. You'll learn how to prep the surface, layer colour for vibrancy, and add those crisp painted details that catch the light from every angle.
Paint a single statement wine glass, a whole set for entertaining, or a beautiful upcycled bottle for your shelf — whatever fits your style. It's a wonderfully meditative class, and the finished piece looks gorgeous catching the afternoon sun.

Big, Bold, Buttery Brushwork on Square Canvas
This is the week we get our hands on the palette knives and create a rich, textured artwork with real depth and movement. You'll work on a square canvas, building up thick layers of buttery acrylic paint that catch the light beautifully — almost three-dimensional in person.
Sunflowers are a popular choice (and what a stunner the example above is), but florals, abstracts, and coastal scenes all work brilliantly with this technique. The finished piece looks completely gallery-ready and feels like a serious investment piece for your wall.

Wire and Papier Mâché Magic
Time to get sculptural. This week you'll shape a wire armature and build it up with papier mâché to create a charming home statement piece — like the bookish hare and fox above.
You'll choose your own creature or shape, and we'll guide you through the design and structure every step of the way. The newsprint finish gives a wonderfully literary, vintage feel that looks beautiful on a bookshelf or mantel, but you can also paint over it for a completely different look.

Set Your Dining Table Apart, Every Single Day
There's something wonderfully old-world about a hand-painted table runner — and this week you'll design and paint one of your very own. You'll learn how to plan your layout, work with fabric paints so the colours stay true through countless washes, and create those soft, painterly florals (or whatever motif suits your home) running the length of your table.
Linen-look neutrals, deep botanicals, or fresh wildflowers like the cornflowers and daisies above — completely your call. The result is a piece you'll bring out for every dinner party, every Sunday lunch, and absolutely no special occasion at all.

Paint a Personalised Apron for Your Kitchen
Bring your home into the studio this week with a hand-painted fabric apron — perfect for cooking, gardening, or your own creative work back home. Sunflowers and butterflies make a stunning combination, but you might prefer kitchen herbs, your own initials, or something playful and bright that makes you smile every time you put it on.
You'll learn how to paint on fabric so the design holds up beautifully to washing, and how to plan your layout for maximum impact. A wonderfully personal piece — and a brilliant gift idea if you fancy making two.

Sculpted Clay That Doubles as Wall Art
This week we're getting our hands into proper pottery clay to create a one-of-a-kind hanging tile for your wall. You'll shape, texture, and personalise your design. Create coral reefs, organic patterns, botanical impressions, or anything that catches your imagination, before we fire it for you.
You'll then paint and glaze your finished tile to make it truly yours (a small extra cost applies for the final firing). The result is a beautiful piece of handmade wall art with real depth and texture — the sort of thing people lean in close to admire.

Greet Every Guest with a Mat That's Unmistakably Yours
Your front door is the very first impression of your home — and this week we're giving it the welcome it deserves. You'll design your very own door mat using acrylic paint, building a piece that's part artwork, part everyday workhorse.
Florals and a hand-lettered “welcome”, a coastal motif, your family name, a cheeky greeting — whatever feels like you. You'll learn how to prep coir matting so the paint really lasts, and how to plan a design that still reads beautifully under muddy boots and sandy feet

Transform Something Special from Your Own Home
For the final week, bring something from home and we'll help you completely transform it. A welcome mat, a cushion cover, a tired old chair like the cheerful cat example above, a cupboard door, a drawer front, even an item of clothing you'd love to refresh.
We'll help you design the artwork and guide you through the painting itself, drawing on everything you've learned across the term. It's the most personal class of the course, and a brilliant way to finish with a piece you'll keep using and loving long after term ends.
